'This was the largest audience to ever gather in support of Insane Clown Posse, period'
Insane Clown Posse and the Trump administration. What’s the difference, really? (Answer: You need to lowercase “insane clown posse” when referring to the Trumpites.)
Well, here’s at least one other discernible difference: Insane Clown Posse is now a bigger draw. This is what happens when a president who built his entire political career on nativism and ugly racism relents just slightly in his fealty to racists.
A guy who bragged about sexually assaulting women, defended Nazis and the KKK, berated the parents of a fallen war hero, publicly humiliated his own attorney general, ridiculed numerous Republican members of Congress, mocked a disabled person, fat-shamed a pageant winner, ran a scam university, praised Vladimir Putin, has openly profited from his presidency, refused to release his tax returns, set a red line with North Korea that the country immediately crossed, and gets up in the middle of the night to tweet crazy, angry lies more often than he wakes up to pee didn’t really lose the hearts and minds of conservatives until he accidentally showed a modicum of compassion to Dreamers.
So his reward for dancing with Chuck and Nancy is that no one shows up for his million-racist march:
Nine months into the administration of President Donald Trump, fans of the eccentric Detroit rap duo Insane Clown Posse assembled a larger rally on the national mall this Saturday than the president’s diehard supporters stationed a few hundred yards away.
The dueling rallies reflected the difficulty that any sitting president has in mobilizing his base, and the particular challenge that Trump has as he struggles to pass major legislation and honor his campaign promises.
Unlike the pro-Trump rally, Juggalos, as clown-makeup-wearing Insane
Clown Posse fans call themselves, protested on the National Mall on Saturday for an actual specific purpose. That could explain why the gathering that surrounded the base of the reflection pool at the Lincoln Memorial this afternoon was significantly larger than the pro-Trump rally.
The bloom is already off the rose of the young Trump administration, but Juggalos are forever.
Hey, if it looks like a lame duck and quacks like a lame duck, it’s a lame duck.
